Oakland Events is happy to announce that we will feature a Green Living section at Out and About in Rockridge’08. Green Exhibitors are businesses and non-profits whose products and services cover a range of market sectors and sub-sectors, including: Green building supplies, socially responsible investing and "green stocks", alternative healthcare, organic clothing and food, personal development media, yoga and other fitness products, eco-tourism and more.

Pro ArtsPro Arts InSite presents an interactive installation of raw materials by Zach Pine and additionally, three Artisan vendors at Rockridge Out & About 2008. Programming is curated and organized by Pro Arts' InSite Exhibition Services and sponsored by Oakland Events. 

Zach Pine,  Installation Artist
Bamboo, leaves, branches, flowers, pods and other wonders of
nature are the inspiration and materials for this spontaneous
collaborative artistic expression. Join in, get creative, learn, and have
a blast while appreciating and honoring nature in a new way.

Favianna Rodriguez, Pro Arts East Bay Open Studios Artist
Favianna Rodriguez is an Oakland-based printmaker and institution builder,
Her dynamic political prints and posters tell a history of social justice,
capturing the daily sentiments of a people in daily struggle, to document
their efforts and celebrate their victories. In 2003, Favianna co-founded
the Taller Tupac Amaru, with the mission of producing and distributing
screenprinted political posters. With her signature energy and zeal,
Favianna travels to share her inspirational work with others abroad.

Jered Nelson, Pro Arts East Bay Open Studios Artist
Richmond Based potter, Jered Nelson, works predominantly with tough,
vitrified Northern California Clay to produce ceramics that don't
sacrifice functionality for beautiful design. His calls his company
Cloudwest.

Diane Dunwoodie, Pro Arts East Bay Open Studios Artist
Dunwoodie paints using acrylic because it dries quickly and she can create layers of color and build up textures on the surface. Her paint brush or pallet knife is often put aside in order to apply and blend colors with her hands or fingers. She loves the feeling of the paint and the canvas -- enjoying this tactile carry over from her many years of working with clay.
 
Dunwoodie has been exhibiting her work for the past eleven years primarily in the Bay Area, several works having been purchased by international art collectors.

About Pro Arts
Founded in 1974, Pro Arts is a nonprofit artist-based organization that serves as the premier resource for visual artists in the East Bay. The Pro Arts Gallery in Oakland's Jack London Square is the  largest free exhibition space- and is home of the largest and longest-running regional art event- East Bay Open Studios. Pro Arts publishes the annual Directory of East Bay Arts and last year  exhibited 580 artists and produced 53 events drawing an annual audience of 65,000. Additionally, Pro Arts offers youth and community programs, and provides professional art services to partnering institutions off-site.
